I recently saw a picture of a home makeover, and the designer had put woven shades on the wall, high above the windows, to give the room a feeling of length, or to make the ceilings seem tall.
I really liked the idea, but don’t know how to go about it.
Has anyone ever put blinds or shades (I’m leaning towards shades) above the windows, instead of in the windows(inside mount) , or on the headrail of the window(outside mount)?
I love the woven shades look but they won’t fit inside my thin windows, and I would like to create tall ceiling effect.
Any ideas? Any suggestions?

They will have all types of blinds, honeycomb, vertical, and horizontal. In shades you’ll find roller, cellular, roman and bamboo shades. You should have all these and more so you can have a better chance in finding the best discount blinds and shades. Look for a discount blinds and shades dealer that has a variety of cheap and good looking window treatments, however much your budget is set to.
Try to go somewhere where there is more than enough of a selection to choose from. Just because you are on a budget does,nt mean you have to settle for less. Look for a discount blinds and shades dealer which offer a guarantee on their selections and offer warranties. Most likely if they offer a nice warranty, the dealer is confident about his or her products. Try not to shop at companies that say all sells are final. This is a red flag. This way if you do not like the blinds or shades later, you can take them back.
You need to feel good about your purchase and know that you can return if you change your mind. Sometimes at these discount blinds and shades stores, the salesman get paid on what they sale. So they are more likely to try to sale you the upper end products even though you’re on a budget. But stick to your guns and insist on what you came there for. So look for someone that is willing to go along with what you want to purchase and not try to change your mind to help sweeten the deal for themselves.
